Waiting

We don't have any news on our adoption process. We did learn that the lady that traveled with us has received her petition to court. Now she is waiting on her court date. From what I understand, when you finally get a "petition to court" it means the Ministry of Education in Moscow finally releases the child to be adopted and you can move on to request a court date. The good news is we do have all our documents done, although our medical ones will expire the middle of July (they are only good for 3 months). Please keep us in your prayers, waiting is very hard on all of us.

Nothing new

Just wanted to let you know I have not forgotten about the blog. We just don't have anything exciting to report. Russia has requested a few more documents. So I am working on that. It is interesting around here though. Every time the phone rings someone rushes to it to see if it is "the call".

Our church has VBS this week so that will help keep us busy and our minds off the phone.

Shower for Justin

On Sunday our church gave us a shower for Justin. We were very blessed with lots of gifts. Thank you to everyone for the gifts!! Deanna Parsons made this wonderful cake. Not sure if you can tell, but she has our pictures all over the ball field. We also received several gift cards and money. Thanks again.

My sister Katie found us a (like new) toddler bed. So we used some of the gift cards buying bedding. No word yet on when we will make our second trip. We pray that we go and return soon with the newest member of the Akers' family. Thanks so much for your prayers.

Weekly update

We do have good news this week. We finally got the last of our paper work notarized and apostilled! The KBI, home study update and the mortgage are finally completed. Now we are just waiting for "the call".
