Just had to take a break from the regular chores and let you know what has and is going on with us. Best news, Geoff passed his oral presentation last Friday. So he is an official PHD candidate! We had Geoff's mom here for a week painting most of the house. We are preparing to put our house on the market in March. We are suppose to move to Ohio in August. So much still needs to be done. Right now I am working on the bedrooms, trying to make them look spacious.
Justin has been surprising us a lot today with his English words. Today at his play group he said "there it is" and at home he said "let me do it". He is also saying more Russian words too. We have not been talking to him in Russia, so these are the words he picked up there that are just now being spoken. So far he says: yes, me and one in Russian (I would type the Russian words, but I am not sure of the spelling). Geoff told me more of his words, but I can't remember them right now. He still says a lot of babbling, but it is exciting to see some progress. Some more good new on Justin, he had a lot of blood work done last month to make sure he didn't come home with anything and that his vaccine shots were true (some orphanages dilute them). Everything came back great. So we have a very healthy little boy. Now we are preparing for our first post adoption home study which is in just 3 weeks.
Overall, Justin is doing so well. I am trying to break him of the habit of throwing himself on the floor when told no. So I pick him up and put him in bed, so he can throw a fit alone. Last week I put him in a chair because the walls were wet with paint and didn't want to risk getting paint on either of us. Well, just the other day he threw himself on the floor and I asked him if he really wanted to do that and he said "da" (yes in Russia) and pointed to the chair. Well, I picked him up and put him in his bed instead and that just made him mad. So I don't think he will want to do that willingly again. We no longer have issues with nap or bedtime. In fact today I asked him if he was ready for a nap and he said "da". I told him to go potty, but he kept pointing to his bed. I finally did get him to go potty, then he ran to his room picked out a book and went to bed. Lately he has been taking books to bed with him, just to sleep with. He also like to head butt people. He just runs to anyone and rams his head into you. I know 2 men who have decided to protect themselves from Justin when he does it now. Justin is just tall enough to do some damage to them. So that is another area we need to work on with him.
Oh, Justin loves to pray now. Can't understand anything he says, but he is proud to do it before meals and at bedtime.
Sorry about the rambling, but I rarely get to blog much anymore and I don't want to leave anything out. Justin will love to read this when he is older.
I will try to post pictures soon.

Thanks Wendy for the tag!!
Here are the rules of the tag:
Grab the nearest book.
Open to page 56.
Find the fifth sentence.

Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual book. Pick the CLOSEST!
Tag five (or more) other people to do the same!
The still-dripping trees sprinkled Lily's shoulders as she pedaled up Summary Lane. The breeze drove away the last of the clouds and a round moon peered at her. Sarah waited, hunkered down y the mailbox. Lily though Sarah was a clump of grass until she stood up.
I will have to thank my 12 year old daughter for leaving her book by the computer. Now to think of someone else to tag.
